Will Smith has admitted it's great to be back after four years away from the big screen and 10 years out of his black suit.

 

The actor was talking at the London premiere of “Men In Black 3” in Leicester Square, which was packed with hundreds of fans along with Jay Z and the other stars of the film. Smith said he had taken so long to make this sequel because he wanted to make it work. "We wanted to make sure we got it right. We were slightly disappointed with the second one and wanted this one to be deserved of the trilogy”, he said.

He also admitted he'd taken time out to be a husband and a father to daughter Willow and son Jaden - both stars in their own right - but added that being back at his own premiere was great. "It's been four years since I've done any acting at all, I've been producing, but this is why I make movies - a big premiere like this, that's why I do it," he said.

Superhero movie “The Avengers” has topped the US and Canadian box office for the second week in a row, taking $103.2m. The film is now the first in Hollywood history to ring up more than $100m in its second weekend of release. It is the movie's second record, after scoring the biggest-ever US opening weekend, with takings of $207.4m. Globally, the film looks set to top the $1bn mark this weekend.

The Avengers' performance this week left Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's “Dark Shadows” behind. Their spoof horror movie, which opened on Friday, made an otherwise-respectable $28.8m, taking second place at the box office.
